Boathouse Beach Coming Along

Work has begun on the Boathouse Beach boat ramp.  The construction of the ramp will help slow down erosion caused by vehicles which were previously backed to the water's edge.  Although a sign was posted at the site alerting that no motor vehicles could pass beyond the sign (approximately where this gate now resides), the sign was often ignored.

The boat ramp is being constructed by the Massachusetts Dept. of Fish & Game at an approximate cost of $100,000, funded entirely by the state.  They will also be maintaining the area.
