A diagnostic / feasibility study for the management of Nashawannuck Pond Easthampton, MA was published January 1990 by Baystate Environmental Consultants. One of the areas of management was the installation of bank stabilization to prevent erosion and sediment from entering the pond. The project was permitted in 1999, a contractor hired in the fall of 2000 and work completed in May of 2001. There were four areas identified, with a total of 6 areas. There are 2 other structures that prevent sediment from entering the pond White Brook & Broad Brook basins.
Some of the bank stabilizations have deteriortated or been damaged and the areas have been evaluated. See photos from 2023 of condition.
