MillEasthampton Public School teachers will participate in a fun dragon boat "tug of war". The winning team will take the prize and have bragging rights.

Following the competition, the  Paradise City Dragon Boat team will offer dragon boat rides on the pond.  Come ride the dragon.  The admission for a dragon boat ride is a donation of a school supply or canned food item, to be collected in special dragon boxes the day of the event. Donations will be distributed to Easthampton Schools and the Community Center.  Adults must accompany children in the boat.  Personal Flotation Devices will be supplied.

The details:

12:00 PM - Tug of War (Championship Award immediately thereafter)
1:00 - 2:30 PM - Dragon boat rides on the pond

Children's Activities Tables available throughout the event.
Raffle Prizes!
Mill Street Deli will be on hand with awesome treats for the whole family.
Mt. Tom's Homemade Ice Cream will unveil a new flavor to celebrate the event.

The official dedication and opening of the Promenade Park at Nashawannuck Pond will take place on the boardwalk as we kick-off the 2015 Cultural Chaos festival on Saturday, June 13th at 12:00 PM (rain date is Sunday, June 14th). 

The park is the result of a vision spanning over 20 years which focused on revitalizing the downtown Easthampton area.  Nashawannuck Pond's location at the entrance to the Cottage Street Cultural District with Mount Tom as its backdrop is a unique landmark that has been the subject of countless photographs, paintings over the years. 

Join us as we celebrate the the beauty of Nashawannuck Pond and its importance as a living legacy for generations to come.

The wrought iron fence has disappeared from the pond!  Don't worry, it's all for a good reason. Work has begun on the new Boardwalk Promenade and safety fencing is now in place surrounding the Cottage St./Williston Ave. area of Nashawannuck Pond.  The video here was filmed at a public meeting in 2013.

The completion date for the project is expected to be May 1st, in time to celebrate Cultural Chaos, scheduled for June 13, 2015.
