Volunteers will meet at the Municipal Lot at 50 Payson Street to check in. They are asked to bring rakes, gloves, contractor bags, weeding tools, etc. Volunteers are asked to sign up online for a 2 or 4 hour shift. https://www.nashawannuckpond.org/clean-up-day.html “Easthampton Clean Up Day is spring cleaning for our community.” said Liz Provo, a member of the Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee, organizer of the event in partnership with Easthampton City Arts and the Friends of the Manhan Rail Trail. This year the pond committee is also partnering with WE "Water Walk" which will be held at the White Brook Middle School track starting at 1PM. This is a great family fundraising event. The pond committee will have a table providing information on the pond and our local award-winning water. Food will be available. The public is asked to make a donation and will be able to carry 3 - 5 gallon jugs of water around the track, simulating what people around the world must do without access to clean drinking water. ABOUT NASHAWANNUCK POND STEERING COMMITTEE The Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee is an advisory committee to the City of Easthampton. Their mission is to make recommendations regarding the health of the pond, to educate the public about the need to keep the pond healthy and to build community awareness by organizing events like WinterFest, Ride The Dragon, Story Walk at Nonotuck Park and other projects. ###
